Job summary

Granite Construction Honey Grove location is seeking a skilled carpenter to construct, erect, install, and repair wood structures and fixtures using hand and power tools in accordance with local building codes. The role includes on-the-job training and reading blueprints to determine material requirements.

You will work on subflooring, framing, and finishing, with physical duties such as climbing, lifting up to 100 pounds, and working on ladders.

Qualifications

• Studies blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to material requirements and dimensions.
• Applies shop mathematics to solve problems.
• Plans work and selects proper tools for tasks.
• Compares sizes and outlines from drawings to identify differences in shapes and lines.
• Visualizes solid objects from drawings or diagrams.
• Performs duties that may change often and uses standards to measure work.

Responsibilities

• Studies blueprints, sketches, or plans for material requirements and dimensions.
• Selects lumber or materials as specified.
• Prepares layout and marks cutting lines.
• Shapes materials to prescribed measurements and assembles parts.
• Verifies trueness of structure and erects framework and subflooring.
