SAWHORSE WOODWORKING AND DESIGN in Vail Valley, CO seeks a Master Cabinet Maker for long-term, craft-focused work. Design, build, and install custom cabinetry and fine woodwork with exacting standards, using traditional joinery and modern methods.

Read plans, mentor junior staff, and collaborate from concept through installation. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in high-end residential cabinetry, mastery of hand and power tools, and the ability to work independently in a mountain environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building custom cabinetry or fine furniture.
• Mastery of hand-tools and power-tools for precise work.
• Keen eye for detail and finish quality.
• Able to read shop drawings and plans.
• Willing to mentor junior shop staff.
• Comfortable working in a mountain environment year-round.
• Valid driver’s license and authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and install custom cabinetry, built-ins, and fine furniture to exacting standards.
• Execute high-quality joinery including dovetails and mortise-and-tenon.
• Select and prep materials with attention to grain and color matching.
• Operate and maintain shop machinery and finishing tools.
• Read shop drawings and plans; collaborate with clients, designers, and team.
• Mentor junior staff and maintain a clean, organized shop.
• Manage projects from concept through final installation.
