Job summary

VIP, Inc. is seeking a Flat Rate Technician in Bath, ME. The role focuses on diagnose, repair, and maintenance of automotive systems, ensuring quality work and safety compliance.

The technician follows VIP processes to deliver a better customer experience, performs required trainings, and maintains clean, safe work practices in a busy shop. The position requires one year of related automotive experience, a possible two-year college program, and ASE certification completion.

Qualifications

  • Read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, journal and procedures
  • Explain vehicle information to customers, present and respond to questions
  • Diagnose and recommend solutions to automotive problems
  • Interpret, understand, and apply written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions
  • Ability to successfully perform required automotive services listed above

Responsibilities

  • Maintain workplace safety as Priority #1 and follow safety policies
  • Provide automotive diagnosis, repair, and maintenance services for customers across ASE systems
  • Initiate and display Service Work Orders prior to service and manage paperwork
  • Complete MPI and participate in the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement Process
  • Return unused parts to the Desk Team after service
  • Road test vehicles after service to ensure safe operation
  • Keep work area clean and organized; maintain shop equipment
  • Attend meetings and trainings as needed
