Job summary

Blue Cliff College is seeking a Massage Therapy Instructor to teach in the classroom and lab, employing lectures, demonstrations, and audiovisual aids to enhance learning. The role requires delivering instruction on massage techniques and safety while maintaining records and preparing syllabi.

The candidate should hold current Mississippi Massage Therapy licensure and have at least three years of practical massage experience; teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Mississippi Massage Therapy licensure.
• Minimum of three (3) years of practical work experience as a massage therapist.
• Teaching or training experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students on use, maintenance and safety of massage tools and equipment and relevant program codes.
• Teach accuracy, neatness, efficiency, resourcefulness, and good work habits for massage therapists.
• Assign lessons, correct homework, and administer tests to evaluate knowledge and skills.
• Maintain attendance and student progress records and report to Lead Instructor and Registrar.
• Present subject matter using varied methods ensuring organized classroom time and effective instruction.
• Enforce classroom protocols and maintain discipline with effective management.
• Prepare course syllabi for each course taught.

Job description

Blue Cliff College is seeking a Massage Therapy Instructor. The instructor will perform various duties to teach massage, bodywork/therapy, therapeutic massage, or other therapies involving manipulation of muscle and connective tissues in the classroom and lab, using diverse teaching methods such as lectures, demonstrations, and audiovisual aids to enhance presentations.

Job Duties

• Instruct students on the use, maintenance, and safe operation of tools and equipment, as well as codes and regulations related to the Massage Therapy Program.
• Teach students the significance of accuracy, neatness, efficiency, resourcefulness, and good work habits for employment as Massage Therapists.
• Assign lessons, correct homework, and administer tests to evaluate students' technical knowledge and practical skills.
• Maintain records of daily attendance and student progress, reporting to the Lead Instructor and Registrar.
• Present subject matter using a variety of methods and techniques, ensuring organized use of classroom time and effective instruction and clean-up within the allotted time.
• Enforce classroom protocols, rules, and regulations; maintain discipline and utilize effective classroom management techniques.
• Prepare course syllabi for each course taught.
