Job summary

Talking Stick Resort is seeking a Massage Therapist to provide professional massage and body treatments to spa guests, ensuring a relaxing experience while maintaining all spa standards. You will help maintain treatment rooms, follow protocols, and contribute to guest satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has a valid Arizona massage license, 700 hours of training, at least three years in an upscale resort spa, CPR certification, and flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Summary

Performs massage therapy for guests, while ensuring a comfortable and relaxing spa experience. Responsible for guest satisfaction in the spa by performing services to the best of their ability and maintaining all spa standards throughout all procedures. Maintains the cleanliness of the treatment rooms in a professional manner at all times and follows all established protocols and checklists to enhance the operation and guest experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

• Provides professional massage and/or body treatment services to spa guests according to established quality and health standards.
• Ensures that the salon is completely, professionally, and neatly maintained in accordance with the guidelines and standards of Talking Stick Resort & Spa.
• Greets all guests who enter the spa and display knowledge of services available, and the amenities offered.
• Demonstrates full knowledge of the spa’s massage and body treatments and the products used, their benefits, and ingredients and be able to communicate these to guests.
• Assists guests with retail product selections and educates them on correct use.
• Promptly notifies spa desk personnel of service upgrades, changes or issues.
• Maintains equipment and supplies on a daily basis and assists in inventory control.
• Assists in other areas of spa as needed including the fitness center, reception and retail areas.
• Responsible for achieving 6% or higher in retail service penetration to service revenue period to ensure consistency and meet this target, retail performance is tracked and audited on a biweekly basis during payroll.
• Expected to actively recommend and promote retail products to clients, provide product knowledge, and engage with customers about the benefits of using professional grade products at home.
• Regular training and support will be provided to help you meet and exceed retail sales goals.
• Ensures availability for on-call appointments within a minimum of eight hour notice; with sufficient advance notice and must arrive 15 minutes prior to shift to set up room for first appointment.
• Displays professional appearance and conduct at all times with both guests and employees.
• Makes all guests feel welcome and takes ownership of simple requests.
• Reads communications boards and memos daily and be responsible for information contained therein.
• Maintains cleanliness of designated areas as directed in accordance with established health and safety standards.
• Communicates lost and found items to spa desk immediately.

Education And/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Minimum of 700 hours of training at a recognized massage school; at least three (3) years work experience in an upscale resort spa operation; CPR certification required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must possess a current, valid Massage License recognized by the Arizona State Board of Massage Therapy.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic PC skills; knowledge of POS systems or cashiering systems preferred.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods, bend, lean and walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
