Job summary

Madden's on Gull Lake, a premier resort in Brainerd, MN, is seeking a part-time Massage Therapist to join our spa team. You will perform massage and body treatments in line with spa protocols, while educating guests on wellness options and maintaining a clean, well-stocked treatment room.

The role requires flexibility, including weekends, with shifts ending by 6:00 PM, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 500 hours of training at an accredited school.
  • Experience preferred but not required.
  • Shiatsu, Reflexology, and other specialty service training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent professional massage and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols.
  • Inform and educate guests about wellness concerns.
  • Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the spa.
  • Maintain sanitation and proper care of equipment and products.
  • Promote spa services, treatments, and promotions to guests.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide consistent professional massage and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
  • Effectively inform and educate our guests about specific wellness concerns.
  • Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the spa.
  • Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
  • Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products offered.
  • Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures.
  • Perform prep work, properly clean and restock room as required.
  • Communicate to management all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.
  • Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
  • Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
  • Provide accurate, appropriate, and immediate responses to all requests by guests.
  • Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
  • Participate in promotions and events.
  • Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa.
  • Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.
  • Communicate to management all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
  • Be on time on your shift, prompt with each appointment and perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service.
Skills and Abilities
  • Must be able to work alongside other people and independently.
  • The ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Time management.
Education/Experience

Must have at least 500 hours of training at an accredited school. Previous experience preferred but not necessary. Shiatsu, Reflexology, and other specialty service training is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not require any supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a quiet professional environment.

Physical Demands

Primarily stationery such as sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time. Must have the ability to stand, walk, talk/hear, both in person and by telephone.

Expected Hours of Work

The Massage Therapist position has rotating shifts, the latest shift working until 6:00PM. This position does require working weekends with the choice of working both Saturday and Sunday every other weekend or one weekend day every weekend.
