Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in San Juan, PR, is seeking a highly experienced litigation attorney to oversee and manage high-volume mass tort dockets. This position is structured as a fully remote role and focuses on monitoring complex tort cases from intake through resolution. The successful candidate will serve as a central liaison among legal teams, vendors, and firm leadership to ensure seamless coordination across active dockets involving pharmaceutical, product liability, and environmental claims.
Duties:
Track and oversee the progress of ongoing mass tort dockets, ensuring timely progression through various litigation stages
Provide regular status updates and analytical reports to firm leadership on case developments
Coordinate with legal teams and support staff across different locations to meet evolving case demands
Assist in designing and maintaining efficient case workflows, including medical records acquisition, vendor coordination, and interdepartmental processes
Serve as the primary point of contact between leadership and staff for litigation status and case education
Manage and maintain data integrity within case management systems, including input of client interactions, litigation stage tracking, and team assignments
Monitor and report on statute of limitations deadlines for active dockets to ensure compliance
Respond to client inquiries regarding case status and route specialized questions appropriately
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing complex litigation, with a focus on high-volume mass tort dockets
Demonstrated proficiency in product liability, pharmaceutical litigation, defective product claims, or environmental torts
Strong leadership and organizational skills for overseeing diverse case teams and workstreams
Experience working with case management software and legal operations tools
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
Certifications:
Active and valid license to practice law in Puerto Rico (PR State Bar admission required)
Skills:
Expertise in multi-jurisdictional tort litigation
Strong written and verbal communication for internal and external coordination
Ability to synthesize legal information and present it to both legal and non-legal stakeholders
Proficiency in managing and training staff on legal procedures and the litigation lifecycle
Meticulous attention to detail and deadline-driven workflow management
