Job summary

Mercer Mass Timber is seeking a Project Manager to oversee mass timber projects across North America, from design through close-out. You will manage budgets, schedules, vendors, and cross-functional teams, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires 7+ years PM experience in construction, mass timber preferred, and strong costing, scheduling, and leadership skills. Flexible location (Vancouver or site-based), with 10–15% travel.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a Project Manager in construction.
• Mass Timber project experience is highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.
• Experience as Preconstruction Manager, Construction Manager or similar role in commercial/industrial manufacturing.
• Strong cost estimating, budgeting and scheduling expertise.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, Excel, MS Project or P6, and Procore.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; leadership capability.
• Contract law and project accounting understanding.
• Experience managing general contractor projects from inception to completion is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define scopes of work and budgets for mass timber projects.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Fabrication Design, Manufacturing, and Construction teams.
• Negotiate change orders with clients and subcontractors.
• Maintain cost control ledgers and track project costs.
• Prepare billing, lien waivers, and ensure timely payments.
• Lead project meetings and document minutes.
• Manage vendor coordination, buyouts, shop drawings, and deliveries.
• Oversee project close-out and retention.
• Provide timely financial reports to management.
