Job summary

SmartLam North America in Dothan, Alabama, seeks a Production Coordinator Assistant to support planning, scheduling, tracking, and coordinating daily production of CLT, Glulam, and mass timber products.

This role links Production, Project Management, Engineering/Design, Quality, Procurement, Inventory, Maintenance, and Shipping to ensure projects move efficiently through manufacturing, safely, and on schedule. Pay depends on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years in manufacturing, production coordination, scheduling or logistics preferred.
• Experience with wood products or mass timber is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems preferred.
• Strong reading of production documents and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily/weekly production scheduling.
• Prepare production work orders, lists, labels, and packaging information.
• Track projects and work orders through manufacturing process.
• Update schedules based on progress, material availability, and priorities.
• Communicate schedule changes to supervisors and departments.
• Identify scheduling conflicts and communicate concerns to the Production Coordinator.
• Coordinate CLT, Glulam, CNC machining, finishing, packaging, and shipping requirements.
