Job summary

The Research Specialist will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Forensic Light Isotope and Trace Environmental Spectrometry (FLITES) core facility at UNC Wilmington. You will train and supervise faculty and students in correct instrument operation and provide data analysis, data management, and QA/QC support.

This is a permanent, state-funded position located at CMS Myrtle Grove with responsibility for multiple MS platforms and strict safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment
• Graduate degree in a related discipline preferred
• Experience with trace level analysis of organic compounds using GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS instrumentation

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the FLITES core facility.
• Train and supervise faculty and students on instrumentation operation.
• Provide data analysis, data management, and QA/QC support.
• Maintain instrumentation and ensure lab safety protocols are followed
