Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Mass Grading General Superintendent to lead large-scale utility construction projects with nationwide travel. Candidates should have extensive estimating, leadership, pre-construction planning, and a history of managing multi-hundred-million-dollar projects and large craft teams.

Role requires willingness to travel up to 100% or operate on a roster with rotating on-site/home weeks. Competitive benefits, annual bonus, and travel/hotel expense coverage are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CM/CE/AE or related field or equivalent construction experience.
• Minimum 14 years of construction management experience.
• Experience overseeing two utility projects valued at $600M+ and managing hundreds of craft workers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee management of construction activities and assign tasks with other departments to support the schedule.
• Budget, forecast, and manage craft labor, equipment, materials, tools, and site environment with Project Manager(s).
• Lead schedule development, three-week look ahead, and site utilization plans; determine crew sizes.
• Drive pre-construction planning sessions and site meetings.
• Provide leadership and mentorship; evaluate performance of field personnel and superintendents.
• Manage open shop and union issues; coordinate with customers, architects, and subcontractors.
• Lead site work logistics and propose improvements for efficiency.
• Assist Field Operations Manager with monthly project reviews (budget, schedule, labor, safety, quality, equipment).
