Job summary

State of South Carolina is seeking a Vocational Education Instructor to deliver brick masonry and related trades, assess students’ abilities, and guide progress through structured instruction.

You will maintain a safe learning environment, supervise tools and equipment, keep required records, and assist with job placement for graduates. New hires must complete four weeks of SCDC Basic Training after hire.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma and relevant program experience are required.
• SCDC minimum: high school diploma and 3–5 years in brick masonry or related trade.

Responsibilities

• Assess students' abilities and needs to guide instruction.
• Develop curriculum and provide instruction to ensure student progress.
• Evaluate student progress.
• Maintain discipline and safety in classrooms and shops.
• Supervise use of tools and equipment for safety.
• Maintain student records and submit required reports.
• Assist with job placement of course graduates.
• Maintain a safe learning environment.
• Perform other duties in vocational education as needed.
