Job summary

JD Long Masonry in Manassas, VA, is seeking a Mason Tenders to join our on-site team. This full-time role supports masons by preparing and moving cement and mortar, staging brick, block and stone, and assisting with layout and setup to keep projects efficient.

You will load and unload materials, operate basic hand tools under supervision, and assist with stonework, brickwork and renovation tasks while following all safety procedures. A strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong foundational masonry skills and ability to support masons on diverse projects.
• Experience mixing and handling cement and mortar.
• Exposure to brickwork, stonework, and material handling.
• Support renovation work, demolition, cleanup and site prep as needed.
• Commitment to safety, OSHA guidelines, and company safety policies.
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in varying weather.
• Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and ability to follow instructions.
• Union experience or willingness to join a union may be beneficial.
• Willingness to learn trade skills and grow with the role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and mix cement and mortar and move materials as needed.
• Assist with layout, setup, and staging of materials for masonry work.
• Load/unload materials (brick, block, stone) and maintain an organized job site.
• Assist with stonework, brickwork, and renovation activities under supervision.
• Follow all safety procedures and use proper PPE on site.
