As a Mason Tender, you will work alongside experienced professionals to help create stunning outdoor spaces, supporting the Lead Mason on a variety of hardscaping projects. Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Mason with all aspects of stone masonry projects, including preparing materials, mixing mortar, and transporting supplies to the work site.
- Operate equipment such as excavators, skid steers, and 1-ton dump trucks; trailering experience is a plus.
- Perform hands‑on masonry tasks, including laying stone, cobble, reclaimed granite, edging, building walls, and constructing patios under supervision.
- Independently complete smaller masonry projects as assigned by leadership.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work site, adhering to all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Lead Mason and team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to high standards.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in masonry and equipment operation required.
- Proficient in operating excavators, skid steers, and 1-ton dump trucks.
- Basic understanding of stone types and their applications.
- Skilled in mixing and applying mortar, laying various types of stone (such as fieldstone and flagstone), and building stone structures.
- Ability to safely use stone saws, grinders, sledgehammers, transits, chisels, feather and wedges, and other hand tools.
- Physically fit and able to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, working outdoors in various weather conditions, and standing for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, professional team environment.
