Job summary

Kortman Masonry, Inc. is hiring a full-time Masonry Professional to operate on-site in the Grand Rapids region. You will perform brick, block, and stone masonry, read plans, set up materials, and ensure quality and safety on the job site.

Applicants should have strong masonry and renovation experience, be safety‑minded, and able to work in a team environment. A sign-on bonus may be available for experienced candidates.

Qualifications

• Brickwork and block work masonry experience required.
• Stonework including cutting, shaping and setting experience.
• Renovation/restoration experience a plus.
• Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of tools.
• Physical ability to lift, climb ladders or scaffolding, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
• Apprenticeship or vocational training considered a plus.

Role Description

This full-time on-site Masonry Professional role covers the greater Grand Rapids region. The Masonry Professional will perform hands‑on masonry work, including laying brick, block, and stone. Daily tasks may include reading plans or instructions, setting up materials and equipment, prep work, and ensuring work meets quality and safety standards. The role also involves maintaining a clean and organized job site.

Qualifications

• Strong masonry skills, including experience with brickwork and block work
• Experience with stonework, including cutting, shaping, and setting stone
• Background in renovation projects, including repair and restoration of existing masonry is a plus
• Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of tools and equipment
• Physical ability to lift materials, work on ladders or scaffolding, and perform repetitive manual tasks
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
• Previous construction or masonry trade experience preferred; apprenticeship or vocational training is a plus

Experienced operators and/or laborers are also encouraged to apply for a position. Our workload is full and we plan to have full-time work through the winter.
