Job summary

City of Miami Beach is seeking skilled workers for construction, masonry and concrete projects on-site. Duties include concrete finishing, tiling, insulation, repairs, and installation of fixtures across public spaces and beaches. Applicants must have a valid Driver's License and obtain a Florida Class B CDL with air-brakes within 90 days of appointment.

Qualifications

• Eighteen (18) months full-time verifiable experience in concrete finishing work and form building including curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and slabs.
• Driver's license.
• Obtain Class "B" Florida Commercial Driver's License valid for air brakes within ninety (90) days of appointment.
• Desired: Two (2) years of commercial experience.

Responsibilities

• Installs poles, pours, and installs trash cans.
• Supports, sets up and dismantles for special events.
• Moves furniture.
• Builds sea walls and masonry structures.
• Repairs bridges, boat docks and boardwalks.
• Drives trucks and other equipment (i.e. forklift, crane & back hoe).
• Installs lifeguard stands.
• Prepares written reports.
• Plasters walls and ceilings inside/outside.
• Installs and layouts asphalt, vinyl and ceramic tiles.
• M akes up forms and cement for Walk-of-Stars foot prints.
• Builds and installs concrete showers on beach.
• Cuts and ties rebar.
• Repairs locks.
• Repairs roofs.
• Installs carpet.
• Works with and assists other departments.
• Transports employees and materials to job.
• Erects chain link fences.
• Installs signs.
• Paints and rustproofs.
• Operates a variety of power tools.
• Installs metal studs.
• Maintains and repairs playground equipment.
• Performs related work as required.
