Job summary

ConFlip in Los Angeles seeks a skilled Mason to build and repair walls, floors and chimneys using masonry materials. Responsibilities include laying out patterns from blueprints, cutting bricks or stones to size, mixing cement, and finishing surfaces to a clean, safe standard.

The role accommodates Nepali nationals residing in Los Angeles or willing to relocate at their own expense. English proficiency is not required.

Qualifications

• Must be a Nepali national residing in Los Angeles or willing to relocate at their own expense.
• Ability to understand basic instructions in English is preferred but not required.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects and work on scaffolding or ladders as needed.
• Previous experience as a Mason is not required but would be an asset.
• Familiarity with different types of masonry materials such as bricks, stones and blocks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lay out patterns or foundations according to blueprints
• Mix cement and mortar using appropriate ratios
• Cut or shape bricks, stones or blocks to specified sizes
• Build corners with the use of corner poles or by building up alternate courses
• Align structures using plumb rules mason lines and levels
• Spread mortar on slabs or foundation using trowels and other hand tools
• Finish surfaces by scraping off excess mortar
• Repair cracks or damage in existing structures
• Maintain clean and safe work environment
