Job summary

White Bark Property Management is seeking a skilled Mason to join our maintenance and construction team across Maine. You will handle brick, block, stone, and concrete work from repairs to restoration, reading blueprints and ensuring safety and quality on every project.

Ideal candidates have strong masonry experience, familiarity with tools, and the ability to work independently or with a team. Valid driver’s license and a commitment to safety are essential.

Qualifications

  • Proven professional experience as a Mason with a strong work history or portfolio.
  • Expertise in brick, block, stone, and concrete work, including laying, pointing, patching, and restoration techniques.
  • Strong understanding of masonry materials, tools, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and project plans.
  • Proficiency with masonry tools such as trowels, levels, chisels, saws, mixers, and grinders.
  • Knowledge of building codes and safety protocols.
  • High attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
  • Reliable communication skills, professionalism, and a problem‑solving mindset.
  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; OSHA 10/30 is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build, repair, and restore masonry structures including walls, walkways, foundations, chimneys, stairs, and decorative features.
  • Perform tuckpointing, repointing, patching, and mortar repair to ensure long-term durability and appearance.
  • Lay out, measure, and cut materials using appropriate hand and power tools.
  • Mix mortar and concrete to proper consistency based on project needs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine materials and installation methods.
  • Inspect existing masonry for damage or deterioration and recommend the right repair approach.
  • Prepare, clean, and finish work surfaces.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site and properly care for tools and equipment.
  • Work closely with maintenance staff, contractors, and property managers to plan and execute projects.
  • Provide accurate estimates for labor, materials, and timelines when needed.
  • Ensure all work meets building codes, safety standards, and company quality expectations.

  • Comfort working in various weather conditions and on active job sites.
  • Manual dexterity and strong hand–eye coordination.
