Job summary

Bodycote, the world’s largest provider of thermal processing services, seeks a Masker based in Huntington Park, CA. Under close supervision you will prepare copper plate masking using nylon tape and stop-off compounds, read work instructions, and help maintain safety and housekeeping.

This safety-sensitive position requires a high school diploma, basic math, and ability to read and communicate in English. ITAR requirements apply; overtime and weekend work may be needed.

Qualifications

• ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card holders.
• Education – High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have knowledge of basic math.
• May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
• Must be detailed oriented as the role requires painting with small brushes.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepares work for selective copper plate by masking areas to be heat treated with nylon tape and/or stop-off compounds.
• Reads and determines work instructions.
• Immediately reports any unusual problem to Heat Treater, Foreman/Lead Person or management.
• Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
• Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
• Care and treatment of customer inventory in a safe and responsible manner.

Position Summary:

Based in Huntington Park, CA the Masker will perform essential job functions as directed under close supervision.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities):

The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following.

• Accurately prepares work for selective copper plate by masking areas to be heat treated with nylon tape and/or stop-off compounds.
• Reads and determines work instructions
• Immediately brings any unusual problem, irregularity or concern to Heat Treater, Foreman/Lead Person or management.
• Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
• Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
• This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
• Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.
• This position will allows for cross training and development of additional skills

Physical & Mental Demands:

The following physical and mental demands consist of, but are not limited to the following.

• Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment
• Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions
• Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions
• Must be able to communicate effective le orally and in writing

Pay & Benefits Information

The hourly pay for this position is $21.00 - $23.00 per hour. Starting pay is determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal law.

The role is eligible for additional compensation, including shift differential, etc., if applicable.
