Job summary

Sheehy Auto Stores seeks a skilled Maryland State Inspector to join our service team in Laurel, MD. The MSI will perform Maryland state inspections, diagnose issues, discuss repairs with the shop foreman, and ensure high standards of vehicle safety and reliability.

Responsibilities include mentoring trainees, maintaining documentation, and staying current with factory bulletins and safety guidelines. A valid MD inspection license and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

• Maryland State Inspection License required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months of related experience and/or training.
• Must be authorized to work in the USA.
• Clean driving record and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Examine and diagnose vehicles.
• Discuss repairs with the shop foreman or service advisor.
• Communicate additional service requests to the service advisor.
• Plan work procedures in cooperation with the shop foreman.
• Provide labor time estimates to the service advisor.
• Monitor repair time and update the service advisor regularly.
• Maintain dealership policy on vehicle care and operation.
• Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs.
• Assist in mentoring technician trainees.
• Attend company and factory training.
• Keep current with factory technical bulletins.
• Adhere to safety standards and dispose of hazardous waste as required.
