Job summary

Sheehy Auto Stores is seeking a skilled Maryland State Inspector to perform Maryland state inspections and diagnose issues for maximum reliability. Responsibilities include discussing repairs, planning procedures with the shop foreman, and providing labor estimates while maintaining safety standards.

Requirements include MD State Inspection License, high school diploma or GED, 1–3 months of related experience, valid USA work authorization, and the ability to pass background checks and a drug

Qualifications

• Maryland State Inspection License required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 months of related experience and/or training.
• Authorized to work in the USA.
• Able to pass pre-employment background checks, MVR, and drug screen.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Examine and diagnose vehicles.
• Discuss repairs with the shop foreman or service advisor.
• Communicate additional service requests to the service advisor.
• Plan work procedures in cooperation with the shop foreman.
• Provide labor time estimates to the service advisor.
• Monitor repair time and update the service advisor regularly.
• Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on vehicle care and operation.
• Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs.
• Assist in mentoring technician trainees.
• Attend company and factory training.
• Keep current with factory technical bulletins.
• Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste).
• Applies proper use of PPE and adheres to safety standards in the shop environment.
• Must keep the vehicle you are working on clean and free of grease and oil.
