Job summary

Sheehy Auto Stores is seeking a skilled Maryland State Inspector to join our Laurel, MD service team. The MSI will perform Maryland state inspections and diagnose issues to ensure maximum reliability and safety.

Qualifications

• Maryland State Inspection license is required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months of related experience and/or training.
• Must be authorized to work in the USA and pass pre-employment background checks, MVR, and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Examine and diagnose vehicles.
• Discuss repairs with the shop foreman or service advisor.
• Communicate additional service requests to the service advisor.
• Plan work procedures with the shop foreman.
• Provide labor time estimates to the service advisor.
• Monitor repair time and update the service advisor.
• Maintain dealership policies on vehicle care and operation.
• Complete story/documentation for client repairs.
• Assist in mentoring technician trainees.
• Attend company and factory training.
• Keep current with factory technical bulletins.
• Understand and follow regulations (hazardous waste disposal).
• Adhere to PPE usage and safety standards in the shop.
