Job Overview: MARS Energy EPC – Midwest is expanding, and we seek skilled Journeyman Electricians to join our field team. You'll work on Utility-Scale and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across the Midwest, providing technical expertise and leadership, mentoring apprentices, and contributing to project success. Key Requirements:
- Reliable transportation and personal tools.
- Residency in greater Chicagoland area or willingness to relocate.
- Prevailing wage may apply depending on project scope.
Responsibilities:
- Report to Electrical Superintendent.
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems per NEC and local codes.
- Perform wiring, conduit installation, panel mounting, and terminations for solar PV systems.
- Conduct testing and troubleshooting for system safety and integrity.
- Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and specifications.
- Ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Collaborate with trades and project teams for timely completion.
- Mentor apprentices, ensuring safety and performance standards.
- Follow safety protocols, including lockout/tagout.
- Report and approve apprentice OJT hours.
- Travel up to 100% as needed.
Qualifications:
- Journeyman license or equivalent.
- Advanced electrical training and knowledge of NEC and OSHA standards.
- OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.
- High school diploma required.
Experience:
- At least 3 years in commercial/industrial solar installations.
- At least 4 years general electrical experience.
- Knowledge of NEC Code and OSHA 1926 standards.
- Experience with Three Phase Services (208V/480V).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and blueprint reading skills.
- Attention to detail and excellent communication.
- Ability to work in various conditions, including rooftops and confined spaces.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
