Job summary

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Markets Risk and Control (MRC) function seeks a Risk and Control Associate to support risk management, testing, and remediation efforts across Markets groups. You will work with business areas on control design, data analysis, and incident review while leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency and reporting.

Applicants should have strong knowledge of risk frameworks, IT controls, and SOX, with excellent communication to varied audiences.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of risk management frameworks, practices and methodologies, including risk ID, assessment, monitoring and escalation, and the three lines model.
• Understanding of operational, compliance, financial reporting and technology control principles, including IT systems and controls.
• Familiarity with trading compliance risk and SOX 404 is a plus.
• Experience in auditing or testing for design and operating effectiveness, or other business process or IT controls assurance work.
• Technical abilities in data compilation and analysis, attention to detail and quantitative skills.
• Engagement coordination skills, including organizing and facilitating stakeholder interactions, good priority management, clear communication.
• Basic proficiency in AI models and tools, including understanding capabilities/limitations, prompt writing, and risk awareness of AI outputs.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint and Tableau.
• Experience with a GRC tool is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication to convey risk and controls to varied audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of the Markets risk management program across business areas.
• Assess audit findings, risk events and incidents for root causes and improvements.
• Document test results and assist in remediation plan development.
• Prepare reports and KPIs to inform management decisions.
• Build relationships with subject matter experts and technology partners for risk evaluation.
• Apply AI tools to summarize docs, draft reports, and analyze data.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI for risk and control processes.
• Ensure compliance with Bank policies and proper validation of outputs.
