The Wall Street Journal is seeking an ambitious, high-energy Editor to oversee coverage of financial markets and guide a team of journalists shaping stories that span stocks, bonds, crypto and other assets.

You will shepherd daily news with analytical context and develop high-impact features, from profiles of key figures to deep dives into companies, markets, and trends for readers across platforms.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of experience in business journalism and command of markets dynamics.
• Experience as a story editor or strong writing skills if editing before.
• Desire to cultivate talent and help reporters reach their potential.
• Ability to analyze data quickly and tell complex stories creatively.
• Entrepreneurial, collegial spirit.

Responsibilities

• Drive the Journal’s coverage of markets news, managing a team of reporters at a high level.
• Develop ambitious feature story ideas with reporters and collaborate with newsroom stakeholders to publish.
• Line edit stories with the deputy editor.
• Work with reporters to cultivate sources across the investing world.
• Guide reporters to contribute incisive posts for WSJ Live Markets.
• Collaborate with product and tech teams to broaden WSJ markets coverage.
