Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company’s Nationwide Economics is seeking an Economics Specialist to support macroeconomic research, forecasting, industry analysis, and data-driven communication across the investment team. You’ll turn complex data into clear insights for investment professionals and partners.

Based in the Columbus area or fully remote, you’ll work with senior economists, build models, apply Python and AI/ML tools, and help publish thought leadership while safeguarding forecast

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, data science, or related field.
• Postgraduate degree preferred.
• Approximately three or more years of experience in economics, macroeconomic research, quantitative analysis, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze macroeconomic, industry, and financial-market data affecting policy and rates.
• Build, maintain, and improve economic models, forecasts, charts, and tables for senior economists.
• Use quantitative research, econometrics, and programming to explain data implications for Nationwide and its units.
• Apply Python or comparable coding tools and AI/ML capabilities to improve analysis and workflows.
• Prepare concise written analysis for investment professionals and internal partners.
• Contribute ideas for Nationwide Economics publications and thought leadership content.
• Collaborate with senior economists to validate findings and protect forecast confidentiality.
