Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company in Columbus, OH is seeking an experienced data & analytics professional to drive data strategy, governance, and reporting across business lines. The role supports a hybrid work model with 3 days in office and 2 days remote within the Columbus area.

You will develop data solutions, ensure data quality, and partner with IT and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable insights using SQL, Python, Tableau, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate studies in computer science, MIS, business, statistics, math or related field.
• Graduate studies in business, statistics, math, computer science or related field are a plus.
• 6–10 years of relevant experience with data management standards or practices.
• Proficient in data acquisition, wrangling and visualization using SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI, etc., plus cloud tech (Azure/AWS).
• Experience engaging business leaders, data architects and external consultants.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, executes, and communicates data strategy opportunities and KPIs to support a data-driven culture.
• Consults on data acquisition, curation, and consumption for analytical uses and governance.
• Collaborates on mapping end-to-end data flow and technical interfaces; recommends solutions.
• Develops relationships with business, technology, and vendor partners; communicates data impacts.
• Prompts data, reporting and analytic requirements to generate solutions.
• Participates in planning and execution of UAT; triages issues with the development team.
• Performs data management activities including classification, lineage, quality rules, and profiling.
• Uses visualization techniques to present data for business needs; ensures data access governance.
