Job summary

Fleetio is seeking a software engineer for the Marketplace team to build features that connect customers with maintenance shops, enable service workflows, and power payments within our fleet operations platform. You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver well-tested, scalable code and participate in design discussions to maintain high quality software.

The role is remote-friendly in a fast-paced environment with opportunities for growth and learning

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience with Ruby on Rails, React, and/or Typescript.
• A firm understanding of object-oriented programming and relational databases, such as PostgreSQL.
• Solid experience solving challenging architecture problems with good design.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills (particularly written).
• An eye for detail and quality, and the ability to make tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and implement features to build out the Marketplace offering and facilitate outsourced maintenance and payments for vendors and customers.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other Engineers to deliver high-quality software.
• Engage in collaborative design and architecture of features.
• Deliver well-tested, maintainable, and performant code.
• Research, implement prototypes and spikes to validate assumptions and technical feasibility.
• Have a strong voice in development and planning processes.
• Thoroughly review peers’ code to ensure quality and knowledge sharing.
