Qualifications

  • Current college sophomore (Completed 30 Credits), junior (Completed 60 Credits), first‑semester senior, or graduate student.
  • Pursuing a degree in Agricultural Business, Agricultural Economics, Animal Science, Agronomy, Agricultural Education, Agricultural Communications, General Agriculture, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the components of the lending process.
  • Learn credit fundamentals and credit philosophy.
  • Learn the process of appraising real and chattel properties.
  • Learn the variety of risk management options offered by FCS Financial including crop, livestock, and life insurance.
  • Complete one or more projects identified by FCS that are hands‑on in nature and add value to the company.
  • Presentations to the Board of Directors and senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with mentors and staff to develop professional communication.

Looking for an internship that is more than just coffee runs and spreadsheets? FCS Financial is looking for three Marketplace Interns to join us for a 12-Week summer experience designed to help them explore career opportunities, build professional skills, and gain real-word exposure to the finance side of Missouri Agriculture. If you’re curious, motivated, and ready to learn, this internship offers a unique opportunity to work with experienced professionals while making connections across our Association.

As a Marketplace Intern, you’ll discover how FCS Financial supports agriculture and rural communities throughout Missouri and gain hands‑on experience in lending, customer relationships, and business operations. Through this experience you'll build your network, develop new skills, find a career path, and experience our "One Team" culture.

The Opportunity

As a Marketplace Intern, you will:

  • Work with industry professionals across the Association and learn how FCS Financial serves our member owners throughout Missouri
  • Be partnered with a mentor from our Young Professional group to provide guidance and support throughout the internship
  • Gain exposure to the full agricultural lending process from start to finish.
  • Explore a variety of areas FCS Financial has to offer: Crop Insurance, Accounting & Finance, Credit Services, Human Resources, Legal, Loan Services, Audit, Marketing, Title Services, and Information Services

What You Need
  • Current college sophomore (Completed 30 Credits), junior (Completed 60 Credits), first‑semester senior, or graduate student.
  • Pursuing a degree in Agricultural Business, Agricultural Economics, Animal Science, Agronomy, Agricultural Education, Agricultural Communications, General Agriculture, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • General knowledge of agriculture, rural communities, financial services, and FCS Financial.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Location

Marketplace Interns are assigned to one of the three regional teams across Missouri:

  • Northern Missouri – Team #1
  • Southern Missouri – Team #3

This position will close on October 16, 2026.

This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Department: Marketplace Services

Reports To: Senior Vice President, Human Resources or Designee

This 12-week internship typically begins in late May and concludes during the second week of August.

Internship Program - (12 Weeks)

  • Learn the components of the lending process
  • Learn credit fundamentals and credit philosophy

Projects
  • Complete one or more projects identified by FCS that are hands‑on in nature and designed to add value to the company.
  • Presentations to the Board of Directors, senior leadership, mentors and other staff will be conducted towards the end of the internship.

  • Work with several mentors within various areas of the Association.
  • Interact with FCS staff as a team member.

  • Learn about customer relationships and marketing and contribute to FCS image as the leading agriculture financial institution committed to customers.

  • Responsible to appropriately protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the Association’s systems and data and clients’ data
