The Role
We are looking for a Marketing Strategy Consultant to join our client delivery team. This is a client-facing, strategic role. You will help clients answer the questions that sit above the technology: what are we really trying to accomplish, how should marketing and sales work together, what does the customer journey actually look like, and where should we go next?
You will spend most of your time on strategy, but you will not live in slides alone. You understand how marketing technology works and you are comfortable getting into a platform to diagnose a problem or show someone what is possible. Building emails and running implementations will not be your focus, we have a talented technical team for that, but you will be fluent enough in the tools to be credible and genuinely useful.
The work spans customer experience, revenue operations, sales enablement, demand generation, and the marketing technology that supports them. You will work closely with clients and, internally, with our leadership team, helping shape where TPG and our clients are headed. This role reports to the Vice President of Services.
What you will do
- Lead strategic engagements and workshops: lead management, sales and marketing alignment, content strategy, customer journey mapping, and marketing or organizational strategy.
- Sit across the table from marketing leaders and executives, up to the C-suite: understand their business, and help them think through it clearly.
- Look past the stated ask to the real problem, which is often a process, organizational, or measurement issue rather than a technology one, and design the approach to solve it.
- Translate between business goals and MarTech, connecting strategy to the platforms, data, and processes that make it real.
- Get hands‑on in the tools when it helps, to diagnose, demonstrate, or unblock, without owning the build.
- Partner with our technical team to translate strategy into action, shaping platform architecture, data models, operational structure, campaign design, and reporting so the recommendation survives the build.
- Contribute to TPG thought leadership and help our teams sharpen how they serve clients.
- Use AI as a force multiplier in your own work: research, synthesis, analysis, and first drafts, with your judgment on every output before it reaches a client.
- Advise clients on where AI belongs in the solution, and where it does not: the use cases worth funding, the data and process work they require, and the guardrails that keep the output trustworthy.
- Stay ahead of where marketing, technology, and AI are heading, and bring that perspective back to clients and colleagues.
What you bring
- Curiosity and a problem‑solving instinct: you like untangling messy, ambiguous situations and finding the real issue.
- Strong communication: you can explain the "why" behind the work and hold your own with senior stakeholders.
- A marketing foundation: demand generation, marketing operations, lifecycle or campaign strategy, and a good understanding of inbound, outbound, and customer marketing. Comfort translating business goals into marketing strategy.
- Comfort with metrics and KPIs: you understand how marketing and revenue outcomes are measured, and you use data to inform recommendations.
- Working familiarity with marketing automation or CRM platforms (HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce, Eloqua, Adobe): you do not need to be an expert in all of them, but you should understand how these systems work and be willing to get into them.
- Fluency with AI as a force multiplier: you use it for efficiency gains and to help work through complex problems, as a complement to your own critical thinking rather than a substitute for it, and you can help clients see the same distinction.
- Adaptability: you move comfortably between clients, industries, and problems, and a changing market energizes you rather than throws you.
- Poised and credible: professional, trustworthy, and articulate in front of clients, and comfortable holding a room.
- A drive to grow: hungry, a self‑starter, passionate about learning, and eager to contribute from day one. You want to deepen your strategic craft, and you will be mentored by senior consultants and leaders as you do.
- 3+ years in marketing, marketing operations, demand generation, MarTech, or consulting.
Nice to have
- Experience facilitating workshops or leading client‑facing conversations.
- Familiarity with revenue marketing, RM6, or similar frameworks for tying marketing to pipeline and revenue.
- Hands‑on experience using AI tools in a marketing context.
- Exposure to financial services, healthcare, software or technology, or enterprise clients.
- Platform certifications (HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce, and similar).
