Job summary

Salem State University’s Bertolon School of Business seeks an open-rank, full-time, tenure-track Marketing Professor to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, engage in research, and contribute to program development.

Qualified candidates hold a PhD/DBA in marketing or related field (ABD considered if finished by Aug 31, 2027). On-campus duties, in-person instruction, and service are required.

Qualifications

• PhD/DBA in marketing or related discipline from an AACSB or equivalent accredited institution. ABD candidates may be considered if conferred by August 31, 2027.
• Previous university/college teaching experience. Evidence of teaching effectiveness a plus.
• Evidence of scholarly productivity or professional impact in marketing or related fields.

Description

The Bertolon School of Business (BSB) at Salem State University is seeking to fill an open-rank, full-time,tenure-track positionin marketing in the marketing and decision sciences department in fall 2027. BSB is seeking candidates with expertise in marketing and related fieldsto teach undergraduate and graduate courses in marketing. Previous college level teaching experience and scholarly publications in marketing and related fields are highly valued.

Duties and Responsibilities
Candidatesare required to perform duties in accordance with the MSCA contract. Duties include teaching, advising, scholarship and contributions to continuously improvethe department, BSB, and university. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester and expectations for research are in line with AACSB accredited schools with a similar mission. Regular work schedule includes in-person classroom instruction, office hours, and campus-based professional responsibilities. The position is subject to available funding.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with and a commitment to teaching a heterogeneous studentpopulation with various backgrounds, experiences, and learning styles.
• A demonstrated record of, or potential for, effective teaching in a variety of instructional formats (e.g., face-to-face, hybrid, online).
• Practitioner experience in marketing or related fields.

Working Location
