Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking a Marketing Procurement internship for a 10–12 week program. Interns will work on projects across creative, public relations, media, market research or marketing operations within the Indirect Sourcing & Operations Procurement org.

The role emphasizes supplier management, cost reduction, and strategic sourcing initiatives. Interns typically participate June–August, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and gain exposure to procurement processes and systems

Qualifications

Currently in sophomore or junior level curriculum pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field.
Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Excellent data collection, analysis and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

Support procurement objectives including sourcing, risk management, cost reduction and supplier performance improvement.
Work with Legal, Finance and external suppliers; conduct market analyses and provide insights.
Assist with RFIs, RFPs, and e-Auctions; support contract negotiation and compliance.
Maintain SAP-based financial reporting and category spend data; assist budgeting processes.
Ensure adherence to Global Procurement policies and procedures.
