Job summary

Merck is offering a Global Strategic Sourcing Intern position in its Animal Health Division for the summer. You will work with industry experts to develop and execute sourcing strategies that drive value, efficiency, and innovation across the global supply chain.

This internship provides hands-on experience in supplier analysis, cost modeling, RFIs/RFPs, contract support, data analytics, and digital procurement innovation, with exposure to cross-functional teams and real business impact.

Qualifications

Pursuing BS in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Data Science, Finance, or related field.
Hybrid, on-site employment for 10-12 weeks in Summer 2027.
Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Word proficiency.
Previous pharma/animal health or Fortune 500 experience preferred.
Demonstrated academic excellence.
Digital mindset with AI/productivity tools interest.

Responsibilities

Conduct supplier and market analyses to provide insights for sourcing management.
Support creation of sourcing strategies aligned with stakeholder requirements.
Develop cost models and analyze spend, savings, and budgets.
Assist in RFIs, RFPs, and e-Auctions and support negotiations.
Help manage supplier contracts and performance metrics.
Leverage data analytics to identify spend trends and opportunities.
Assist in risk assessments and mitigation planning.
Share best practices across teams and regions.
