Marketing Manager
Position Summary

The University of New Mexico College of Fine Arts (CFA)seeks a collaborative and creative Marketing Manager to lead college-widecommunications, marketing, and outreach efforts that strengthen the visibilityof CFA's academic programs, people, events, and impact. Working closely withCollege leadership and its academic and programmatic units, the MarketingManager develops and implements communication and marketing strategies thatconnect CFA with students, alumni, community members, donors, artsorganizations, and other external stakeholders. The position developscompelling content across print and digital platforms, including social media,newsletters, websites, promotional materials, press releases, emailcommunications, and stories highlighting faculty, staff, student, and alumniaccomplishments. The Marketing Manager also supports coverage of CFA eventsthrough accessible photography and visual content that captures the activityand character of the College.

Serving as CFA's primary communications and marketingliaison to University Communication and Marketing (UCAM), the Marketing Managerprovides college-level coordination and guidance for communications andmarketing activities across CFA's diverse units. The position workscollaboratively with departmental and unit-based communications and marketingrepresentatives to promote consistent messaging, effective practices,appropriate use of the UNM brand, and coordinated promotion of collegepriorities while recognizing the distinct audiences and identities ofindividual programs. The Marketing Manager provides oversight and coordinationof CFA web content and digital presence; identifies opportunities for earnedmedia and external engagement; develops communications calendars and campaigns;tracks the effectiveness of marketing and outreach activities; and advisesCollege leadership on communications strategies that advance enrollment,engagement, reputation, and community connection.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstratedexperience developing and implementing integrated communications ormarketing strategies across multiple platforms, including web, email,social media, print, and/or earned media.
  • Exceptionalwritten and editorial communication skills, with demonstrated ability todevelop engaging content for varied audiences and purposes, such asfeature stories, press releases, social media, newsletters, executivecommunications, and promotional materials.
  • Experiencemanaging social media and digital communications, including contentplanning, audience engagement, content calendars, analytics, and adaptingcontent for different platforms and audiences.
  • Demonstratedexperience collaborating across multiple departments, programs, ororganizational units, including the ability to coordinate the work ofcommunications or marketing representatives who may have differingpriorities, audiences, and areas of expertise.
  • Experiencedeveloping external-facing communications and cultivating relationshipswith media, community organizations, alumni, donors, or other externalstakeholders, with demonstrated ability to identify and communicatecompelling organizational stories.
  • Experiencemanaging website content and digital presence, including working within acontent management system and applying organizational branding,accessibility, editorial, and web-content standards.
  • Demonstratedvisual storytelling skills, including event photography using mobiledevices or other photography equipment and the ability to select, edit,and appropriately use images for social media, web, newsletters, andpromotional communications.
