Edgewater Family Wealth is a wealth management firm in Orlando. Alongside the advisory work, we run a real content operation: a podcast and radio show, a monthly video series, live client events, and an ongoing social and email program.
We are looking for a marketing intern to help us run it. This is a hands‑on role. You will not be fetching coffee or watching from the back of the room, you will be producing work that goes out to real clients and prospects.
This starts as an internship. If it goes well, we would like it to become a part time role, and eventually a full time one.
What you will do
- Social media. Schedule and manage posts across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube, write captions, and build static graphics in Canva from our templates. Video is provided to you.
- Events. Help run our client seminars and events end to end: RSVP tracking, reminder emails, printed materials, day‑of setup, and follow‑up afterward.
- Email. Build emails from our templates, proofread them, run test sends, and keep our contact lists clean and current.
- Website. Publish blog posts and event pages in WordPress, resize and upload images, and keep the events calendar accurate.
- Quality control. Proofread everything before it goes out. Dates, links, names, and spelling.
- Reporting. Pull monthly numbers from Google Analytics, Facebook, and YouTube into a simple recap.
- Organization. Keep our photo, video, and graphics library named and filed so nobody has to hunt for an asset again.
What we are looking for
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a marketing, communications, journalism, advertising, or digital media program
- You can write a clear sentence. This is the single most important thing on this list.
- Detail oriented, to the point of being a little annoying about it. Our work goes to clients, and a wrong date or a broken link is a real problem.
- Comfortable in Canva. Adobe Creative Suite is a plus, not a requirement.
- Comfortable in Excel and the rest of the Microsoft suite
- Some video editing, even just CapCut, is a plus
- WordPress experience is a plus. Willingness to learn it is required.
- Reliable, responsive, and comfortable asking questions when something is unclear
What you will learn
- How marketing actually works inside a regulated industry, including how compliance review shapes everything
- Email marketing, landing pages, lead capture, and how to tell whether any of it worked
- Podcast and video production from planning through distribution
- Running live events, which is a skill that transfers to almost any marketing job
- Direct mentorship from the people running the program, not a supervisor you see once a month
A note on the industry
We are a financial firm, which means most of what we publish goes through a compliance review before it can be used. You will not be writing about investments or giving financial opinions, and nothing you produce gets published without approval. You will learn the process, and it is genuinely useful experience that most marketing graduates do not have.
It also means hiring takes a few extra steps. Everyone who works here completes a background check and fingerprinting before their first day. It is routine, we will walk you through it, and we cover the cost.
