Develop a notable career at the FT.

Our dedication to maintaining a fair and inclusive workplace

At the FT, we are committed to creating a fair and inclusive workplace where everyone has equal opportunity to succeed. We welcome and value different perspectives and strive to ensure all employees are heard and supported. We believe people do their best work when they can be themselves and have the flexibility they need to balance their work and personal lives. We are an equal opportunity employer and follow all applicable laws that prohibit discrimination.

The role / Position overview

Supporting the Financial Times’ commercial marketing activities in the US, the US Marketing Executive coordinates strategic partnerships, client events, marketing campaigns, and activations alongside regional and global partners.

Interacting directly with the VP Americas, Strategic Business Director, the central marketing team in London, US sales teams, and colleagues throughout the FT, you will deliver daily marketing assistance to guarantee the effective delivery of premium client experiences, commercial partnerships, and marketing initiatives across arts, luxury, lifestyle, finance, and B2B sectors.

Being a US-based member of the marketing team, you will approach your work proactively and with initiative. You will authoritatively handle everyday priorities and fulfill the role of local marketing lead for the US market. You will apply central and regional marketing plans using campaigns and activations relevant to the local market. You will keep close ties with the UK-based Marketing Manager and the wider team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in commercial marketing, events, and partnerships within a global media organisation.

Key responsibilities
Commercial collaborations and activations
  • Plan and carry out commercial partnerships and client activations, taking responsibility for agreed activities and next steps and adjusting delivery when necessary to maximise impact for US audiences.
  • Run marketing materials and partnership outputs in collaboration with external partners and internal clients.
  • Handle partnership timelines and help ensure agreed benefits are delivered.
  • Proactively find opportunities to promote FT commercial initiatives and maximise partner engagement.
Event marketing and client engagement
  • Support the organisation and delivery of client events, including breakfasts, dinners, receptions, and hospitality experiences.
  • Handle event logistics including venues, invitations, guest lists, branded materials, catering, gifting, and on-site support.
  • Lead attendee communications and registration, proactively addressing issues as they arise.
  • Help ensure events are delivered to a high standard and provide an excellent client experience.
Arts, luxury and lifestyle marketing
  • Support marketing efforts for FT Weekend and HTSI commercial partnerships across arts, luxury, and cultural events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across commercial, editorial, brand, and events teams to coordinate campaign activity.
  • Build and maintain effective day-to-day relationships with partner organisations and suppliers.
Marketing initiatives and communications
  • Take charge of delivering US marketing campaigns and communications. Develop and send localized marketing content including emails, newsletters, invitations, and event materials. Make sure global campaigns are suitably customized for the US market.
  • Run localised marketing content on platforms such as LinkedIn, Pardot, and Salesforce, serving as the regional marketing contact for campaign delivery.
  • Monitor audience engagement and campaign performance, providing recommendations to optimise local marketing activity and inform future campaigns.
Collaborator coordination
  • Liaise with colleagues across US and UK commercial marketing, sales, FT Live, and brand teams to support campaign delivery, representing local market requirements and helping shape how campaigns are accomplished in the US.
  • Run meetings, timelines, and project updates, proactively keeping collaborators informed of progress.
  • Respond to partner and collaborator enquiries promptly and professionally. Use good judgement to resolve daily questions independently when possible. Raise strategic decisions to the UK Marketing Manager when necessary.
Reporting and marketing administration
  • Maintain marketing calendars, project trackers, and partnership documentation, taking responsibility for keeping assigned activity on track.
  • Coordinate branded merchandise, print production, and shipping for events and activations.
  • Handle reporting on campaign and event performance, highlighting relevant insights and findings and finding opportunities to improve future marketing.
  • Support budget tracking, invoice processing, and purchase orders.
Required Skills / Experience

  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple marketing projects and deadlines simultaneously, prioritising effectively with limited day-to-day oversight while implementing agreed marketing plans independently.
  • Confidence using Google Workspace, particularly Google Sheets and Google Slides.
