Job summary

Bridger Bowl, Inc. seeks a dynamic Events Supervisor to coordinate community race events and related activities, ensuring safe, engaging experiences for participants and guests on the mountain.

You will lead event staff and volunteers, manage race operations, and collaborate with marketing to promote Bridger Bowl events while maintaining excellent guest service and coordination with mountain operations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate race operations, ensuring events follow industry standards and safety guidelines.
  • Oversee planning, setup, operation, maintenance, and teardown of racecourses and venues.
  • Lead event staff and volunteers; recruit, train, schedule, and support team operations.
  • Support event promotion, marketing initiatives, and effective communication with staff, participants, sponsors, and the public.

Job description

Coordinate the operation and execution of Community Event Series races and related activities, to ensure well-organized, safe, and engaging events for all participants.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Deliver exceptional guest service to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with guests, volunteers, supervisors, and coworkers.
  • Provide accurate information about Bridger Bowl products, services, events, and programs.
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to the Directors when appropriate.
  • Assist with the hiring, training, supervision, scheduling, and support of event staff and volunteers to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Race Operations:
  • Serve as a primary point of contact during races, ensuring events are conducted according to industry standards.
  • Oversee and support the planning, set up, operation, maintenance, and tear down of racecourses and event venues.
  • Support communication with volunteers, staff, and Mountain Operations for safe and efficient event execution.
  • Safely operate snowmobiles on steep and variable terrain in support of race operations and logistics.
Event Operations:
  • Assist with planning, organizing, promoting, and executing special events and races.
  • Conduct competitor meetings, award ceremonies, and post-event recognition activities.
  • Support the Directors with event promotion and marketing initiatives.
  • Communicate event information effectively to staff, volunteers, participants, sponsors, and the public.
  • Maintain participant records, sponsor information, prize inventories, and race result databases; coordinate publication of race results.
  • Promote Bridger Bowl events within the community and on the mountain.
  • Solicit sponsorships, donations, and prize support from manufacturers, local businesses, and industry partners.
  • Coordinate distribution and collection of promotional materials, sponsorship banners, and prizes throughout region.
  • Represent Bridger Bowl professionally during events and community functions.
Administrative & Program Support:
  • Assist with developing the annual events and race calendar.
  • Manage the Ski Shop pass program, discount programs, and industry demo events.
  • Attend and support community outreach activities as assigned.
  • Maintain prize displays in Jim Bridger Lodge.
  • Maintain inventory of event equipment and supplies, recommending purchases and coordinating reorders with the Marketing Director.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Marketing Directors.

SUPERVISION:
  • Supervision Given: This position is responsible for supervising the Events Staff.
  • Supervision Received: From the Marketing Director and Assistant Marketing Director. Receives assignments as directed, with clear expectations, available guidance, and periodic performance reviews as needed or during check-ins.

QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIREMENTS, AND ADDITIONAL INFO:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in customer service, marketing, and the supervision of employees.
  • Previous experience and working knowledge of racecourse setting and competitive ski/snowboard events.
  • Possesses excellent communication and active listening skills.
  • Knowledge of Point-of-Sale systems and basic computer application usage.
  • Ski or ride at a PSIA/AASI Level III equivalent (expert) ability in all snow, weather, and terrain conditions to safely access and support race and event venues.
  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of Bridger Bowl's terrain, lift system, and mountain operations to safely coordinate racecourses, events, and on-mountain logistics.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Outdoor: Regularly working in quickly changing winter weather conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Indoor: sit at a desk under consistent lighting and temperature controls.
  • Work physically near others throughout the shift.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Indoor: type and sit at a desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements.
  • Be capable of lifting and carrying 50 lbs. including hand-carrying loads up to 25 lbs. on skis/board and chairlifts.
  • Requires the ability to learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, communicate effectively with coworkers and visitors, handle stressful situations and upset customers, and completing tasks independently and efficiently.
