Job description

The company is entering a period of significant growth, with several openings, project announcements, and new destination experiences on the horizon. It is looking for a senior freelance marketing lead to own its positioning and marketing agenda, and to direct a flexible network of specialists (PR, product marketing, communications, content) as needs arise.

This is a hands-on role in a lean organization. You’ll set direction, do much of the work yourself, and bring in specialists where they add the most value.

The details
  • Commitment: 16-20 hours per week
  • Contract: 12-month freelance engagement, with the potential to move into a permanent position
  • Location: mostly remote, with occasional in-person meetings at the Miami office
  • Start: short-notice availability is essential
What you’ll work on

Communication milestones and brand visibility

  • Turn corporate and project milestones into positioning opportunities that build reputation and credibility in the industry
  • Near-term focus: upcoming openings, project announcements, and company statements

Product marketing and customer experience

  • Define and showcase the passenger, destination, and hospitality dimensions of next-generation projects
  • Shape the experience narrative for each destination
  • Develop local and international hospitality partnerships

Foundations

  • Brand platform: purpose, positioning, narrative, identity system, and visual expression
  • Content: pillars, editorial planning, omnichannel storytelling, and PR
  • Thought leadership: visibility for the CEO, leadership team, and key stakeholders on LinkedIn and in industry media
  • Events and activation: corporate and opening events that support industry visibility and stakeholder relationships
  • Partnerships: sourcing and managing partners across design, hospitality, F&B, and destination stakeholders
How you’ll work

You’ll act as the company’s marketing lead, orchestrating a hybrid ecosystem of freelancers and agencies and scaling resources up or down across workstreams. You’ll work closely with the executive team and coordinate across multiple functions, including operations, commercial, and partnerships.

About you
  • 10+ years in marketing and communications
  • Ideally, experience in both B2B and B2C marketing
  • A track record in fractional, interim, or consulting roles, comfortable operating without a large in-house team
  • Sector background in one or more of: cruise, travel and tourism, hospitality, destination marketing, real estate or infrastructure development, or B2B industrial/maritime
  • Experience building or repositioning a brand platform for a growing company
  • Experience leading launches and opening events for physical assets such as venues, hotels, or developments
  • Experience managing PR agencies, creative partners, and freelance specialists, including scoping and budget oversight
  • Experience developing executive thought leadership programs (LinkedIn, industry media, speaking)
  • Available to start at short notice

You are a strategic thinker who is equally comfortable executing: writing, briefing, and producing directly. You’re a strong storyteller, credible with C‑suite executives, boards, institutional partners, and public‑sector stakeholders, and you understand experience design and hospitality product strategy.

Nice to have:

an existing network of PR, content, and hospitality specialists; Italian or Spanish language skills; International experience across the US and Europe, and comfortable working across time zones and cultures.
