Job description

Description

We’re looking for a curious, organized, and collaborative Marketing Coordinator to join our Marketing & Communications team in a temp-to-hire role. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their marketing career seeking hands‑on experience with campaigns, events, digital communications, content coordination, and marketing operations.

The Marketing Coordinator will report to the Senior Marketing Manager and work closely with marketing, communications, creative, and internal stakeholder teams. This person will develop, coordinate and execute smaller campaigns with guidance, such as for AMT webinars and AMT Meetups, while also supporting larger campaigns and priority programs, including IMTS – The International Manufacturing Technology Show, The MFG Meeting conference, economic forums, member communications, email marketing, social media, website updates, and PR distribution.

The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator who enjoys keeping projects moving, learning new tools and processes, and helping a busy team deliver polished, timely work. This role is designed for someone with 1-2 years of marketing, communications, events, or related experience who is ready to build confidence and grow into broader campaign ownership over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and execute smaller marketing campaigns, including AMT webinars and AMT Meetup events, with guidance from the Senior Marketing Manager.
  • Support larger, integrated marketing campaigns for programs such as IMTS, The MFG Meeting, economic forums, member communications, and other organizational initiatives.
  • Gather campaign details, confirm timelines, route materials for review, and help keep deliverables on track.
  • Draft and edit marketing copy for emails, event promotions, website updates, social media posts, newsletters, and other campaign materials.
  • Assist with email marketing execution, including list coordination, content setup, proofing, scheduling, testing, and basic performance tracking.
  • Support website and CMS updates to ensure content is accurate, timely, and aligned with brand and campaign goals.
  • Assist with social media efforts by learning the team’s process, drafting copy as assigned, gathering assets, and supporting publishing or scheduling as needed.
  • Assist with distributing press releases and other communications, including formatting, routing, list coordination, and publishing support.
  • Summarize campaign analytics and help identify opportunities to improve future campaigns.
  • Use project management tools to document tasks, deadlines, approvals, and status updates.
  • Collaborate with designers, writers, marketing specialists, and external partners to help move projects from idea to completion.
  • Provide general marketing and communications support during high-volume campaign periods.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in marketing, communications, events, public relations, digital marketing, or a related field; internship experience may be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business, or a related area preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to adapt tone and messaging for different audiences and channels. Ability to understand and adhere to brand guidelines, both written and visual.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable coordinating assigned projects, following directions, and asking questions when priorities or details are unclear.
  • Clear, responsive communicator who follows up and keeps others informed of progress or roadblocks.
  • Curious, flexible learning style and willingness to learn new marketing tools, systems, processes, and campaign best practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to work at AMT headquarters in McLean, Virginia.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for events, meetings, or program support.
Preferred Experience and Tools
  • Experience with email marketing platforms such as HubSpot or similar tools.
