Job summary

The Association of Independent Schools in New England is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to support its Marketing & Communications team. You will craft social media content, maintain the website, and coordinate email communications while showcasing student life, academics, athletics, and campus events.

The role requires strong writing and storytelling, the ability to manage multiple projects, and occasional evenings/weekends for events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, social media management, or related work.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and content management systems.
  • Experience with photography and visual storytelling.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the school’s social media channels, including content planning, creation, scheduling, publishing, and community engagement.
  • Develop compelling content that highlights student life, academics, athletics, arts, and community events.
  • Monitor social media trends and recommend strategies to increase audience engagement and brand awareness.
  • Maintain and update website content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and consistency with institutional branding.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to gather and publish news, announcements, and event information.
  • Support ongoing website improvements and user experience initiatives.
  • Create, format, and distribute external email communications to prospective families, current families, alumni, and other key constituents.
  • Ensure communications align with the school’s brand standards and messaging strategy.
  • Assist with audience segmentation and communication scheduling.
  • Capture high-quality photography across campus for use in marketing materials, social media, website content, publications, and advertising.
  • Organize and maintain digital photo assets.
  • Assist with basic photo editing and content production.
  • Attend and document school events, programs, performances, athletic contests, and community activities.
  • Produce timely content for digital channels following events.
  • Coordinate with event organizers to identify storytelling opportunities and key moments.

Position Summary

The Marketing Coordinator is a creative, organized, and collaborative communications professional responsible for supporting the school’s marketing and communications efforts across digital and print platforms. Reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing & Communications, this position plays a key role in telling the school’s story through social media, website content, email communications, photography, and event coverage.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer and visual storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys engaging with a vibrant school community, and is comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously. This position requires occasional evening and weekend work to support campus events and community engagement activities.

Essential Responsibilities
Social Media Management
  • Manage and maintain the school’s social media channels, including content planning, creation, scheduling, publishing, and community engagement.
  • Develop compelling content that highlights student life, academics, athletics, arts, and community events.
  • Monitor social media trends and recommend strategies to increase audience engagement and brand awareness.
Website Management
  • Maintain and update website content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and consistency with institutional branding.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to gather and publish news, announcements, and event information.

Email Communications

  • Ability to create visually compelling marketing materials and digital content.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move throughout campus and attend events in various locations.
  • Ability to carry photography equipment and other marketing materials as needed.
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
Schedule

This is a full-time, 12-month position. Occasional evening and weekend hours are required to support school events, performances, athletic contests, and other community activities.

Compensation & Benefits
  • $40,000–$60,000, commensurate with experience.
