Job description

McLean School (mcleanschool.org), a K-12 co-educational independent school in Potomac, Maryland, seeks a part-time Marketing Coordinator. This 12-month position begins immediately and will remain open until filled.

For more than 70 years, McLean School has helped bright K-12 students realize their full potential by providing a comprehensive college-preparatory program that emphasizes small classes and differentiated instruction. Through our Abilities Model®, we embrace both traditional learners and those with mild-to-moderate learning challenges. We recognize and teach individual strengths, responding to areas of challenge but never defining students by them.

The Marketing Coordinator supports McLean School’s enrollment and admission goals by coordinating marketing, advertising, outreach, and promotional efforts designed to build awareness of the School and engage prospective families. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications and working closely with the Admission team, this position helps ensure that admission marketing initiatives are timely, consistent, well organized, and aligned with McLean’s brand and enrollment priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate paid digital marketing campaigns, including paid social media and paid search, in partnership with the School’s agency partner; assist with campaign implementation, creative assets, audience targeting, and performance reporting.
  • Coordinate print advertising, including schedules, deadlines, specifications, creative materials, and placement with publications and media partners.
  • Serve as the School’s sponsorship liaison, coordinating advertising, promotional opportunities, deliverables, deadlines, and materials associated with community and organizational partnerships.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date admission event listings and School information on referral websites, directories, community calendars, and partner platforms, ensuring prospective families can easily find current information about tours, open houses, and other admission events.
  • Support the development and execution of integrated admission marketing campaigns across digital, print, email, web, and other channels.
  • Coordinate marketing materials and promotional assets for admission events, fairs, open houses, and recruitment activities, working closely with Admission and Marketing and Communications colleagues.
  • Help monitor and report on advertising and campaign performance, identifying trends and opportunities to strengthen prospective-family engagement and marketing effectiveness.
  • Maintain organized calendars, project timelines, advertising schedules, vendor information, and marketing assets related to admission initiatives.
  • Coordinate and design promotional content for campus digital signage and screens, ensuring admission events and key school messaging are kept current.
  • Serve as an occasional backup for admission-related daily tasks and events when additional coverage is needed, providing prospective families with a welcoming and informative introduction to McLean.
  • Assist with other marketing and admission initiatives that support the School’s enrollment, visibility, and community engagement goals.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills and familiarity with digital advertising, social media, project management, and marketing analytics are preferred. 3 years+ experience in education, independent schools, admission/enrollment marketing, or a related field is a plus. Familiarity with project management tracking tools and school databases is a plus.

Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000
