Job summary

The Bishop Paiute Tribe's Wanaaha Casino is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to organize promotions, events, decorations, and assist with communications under the Marketing Manager.

Qualifications

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Coordinator organizes activities and details related to casino promotions, special events, entertainment, decorations, and assists with internal and external communications. This position also assists with the operations of the Players Club, marketing sales and purchases, public relations, contracts, advertisements, reports, and performs other duties as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  1. Responsible for the organization and execution of casino promotions and special events.
  2. Assists with marketing communications internally and externally, coordinating with departments, issuing staff memoranda, press releases, brochures, guidelines, in-house advertisements, social media platforms, and appropriate signage.
  3. Assists in the proofreading of all advertising and marketing materials.
  4. Program monthly promotions, special events, and newsletter offers in the Oasis system.
  5. Database and Barcoding maintenance.
  6. Tracks, analyzes, and provides reports of marketing data such as promotions, events, advertisements, and forecasts.
  7. Works closely with the Marketing Team to create and implement new marketing trends or campaigns (advertising, gift shop items, promotions, and special events).
  8. Plans and executes all purchases for the marketing department, providing marketing quotes, check requests, and purchase orders.
  9. Assists with entertainment recruitment, contracts, and room reservations.
  10. Organizes and coordinates all decorations to ensure a positive casino environment.
  11. Provide non-gaming vendor applications to new and existing marketing vendors.
  12. Keeps accurate marketing files, contracts, and assists with the marketing inventory.
  13. Assists with the operation of the Players Club when needed.
  14. Acting supervisor when the Marketing Manager is absent.
  15. Other duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Marketing Team Members to include Player's Club, when assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma, HSED, or GED is required.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and in good physical condition.
  • Associate of Arts degree in Marketing preferred or related field plus two (2) years of casino, marketing, advertising, or public relations or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • One (1) year of supervisor experience required.
  • Customer experience required.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and casino marketing software.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License.
  • Knowledge in the following areas; Bishop Paiute Gaming Ordinance and Casino Policies and Internal Control Procedures.
  • Must possess the ability to interact with the public, fellow employees, tribal enterprise, county and state agencies through respect, tact, courtesy, objectivity, maturity to develop an effective and cooperative working relationship.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability and willingness to attend additional training is required.
  • Must have professional experience, be able to lead people and be a team player.
  • The ability to inform and communicate orally and in writing in diverse and challenging situations is required.
  • Ability to speak
    in front of large crowds and make public overhead announcements.
  • Friendly, approachable manner and ability to converse naturally with guests.
  • Must be able to work any shift including evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular schedules.
  • Ability to accurately work on multiple projects under demanding circumstances.
  • Must meet requirements to qualify for a Bishop Paiute Gaming License. Must pass an extensive background check.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Full function of range and motion.
  • Light to moderate lifting is required.
  • Manual and finger dexterity for operation of computer and routine of paperwork.
  • Specific vison abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Environment:
  • This position requires to work in a smoke-filled environment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
  • Fast-paced work environment during busy hours and special events.
