Butler Snow LLP is seeking a Marketing Communications Manager to join our team. You will organize internal and external communications, drive media relations, and position the firm’s attorneys as thought leaders across practice areas.

The role focuses on content calendars, writing and editing press releases and website copy, and collaborating with partners and agencies. You will work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and contribute to branding and business development

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, and/or public relations.
• Experience in media relations and writing press releases.
• Advanced writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Experience with social media channels and CMS.
• Bachelor's degree in communication, PR, or marketing preferred.

Butler Snow LLP is looking for a Marketing Communications Manager to join our team.

The Communications Manager is responsible for organizing and executing internal and external communications and media relations activities in addition to assisting with other marketing and business development initiatives as needed. The position will be focused on organizing content and editorial calendars, writing and editing press releases and website copy, and positioning the firm’s attorneys and advisors as thought leaders within their respective practice areas.

What You’ll Do:

• Working with members of the Marketing and Business Development Team and external agency partners to develop, drive and execute strategic communication campaigns, including proactive media relations, internal communications, and digital content projects in support of the firm’s internal and external initiatives and goals.
• Developing and implementing content and media calendars that effectively promote key practice areas and business development initiatives.
• Writing and/or editing a broad range of content for a variety of marketing uses including press releases, web copy, intranet content, newsletters and alerts, award submissions, blog posts and thought leadership pieces.
• Maintaining an awareness of developing market trends, technology platforms and strategies to provide strategic advice to those in leadership positions.
• Tracking, analyzing, and reporting on measurable communication activities and goals including media mentions, social engagement, share of voice by market, etc.
• Monitoring and guiding projects to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Effectively working with outside agencies on various projects to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Supporting branding and business development initiatives across the firm.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

• Previous experience in a media relations or communications role, preferably in an agency or professional services environment
• Advanced writing, editing and proofing skills
• Proven ability in writing press releases, talking points, and digital content
• Experience working with social media channels, social media management tools, and WordPress or similar CMS
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills
• Ability to identify and develop compelling story ideas and messages, as well as provide compelling and polished content
• Ability to understand PR, social, and website analytics and develop strategies around those metrics
• Strong project management skills
• Superior attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations in a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to interact and effectively communicate with others across all levels of the firm
• Bachelor's degree in communication, public relations, or marketing major preferred
• Four to five years of experience and demonstrated success in a marketing, communication and/or public relations role
• Previous law firm or other professional service industry experience is a plus
