Position Summary

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is responsible for leading the day-to-day marketing and communications efforts of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain (BGCCP). This position helps build awareness of BGCCP, strengthen engagement with families, donors, volunteers, community partners, and supporters, and tell the story of the impact happening across our Clubs. Working closely with the Vice President of Development Operations and leadership across the organization, the Marketing & Communications Manager develops and executes communications that support BGCCP’s mission, fundraising priorities, programs, events, and community engagement efforts. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and organized project manager who can take a big-picture goal, turn it into a clear plan, and bring the right people and pieces together to make it happen. This person should be comfortable balancing strategy with hands-on execution and managing multiple projects, deadlines, audiences, and locations at once.

Marketing & Communications
  • Develop and execute BGCCP’s annual marketing and communications plan in partnership with the Vice President of Development Operations.
  • Manage the organization’s day-to-day communications across digital and traditional channels.
  • Develop clear, engaging, and mission-aligned content for a variety of audiences, including families, donors, volunteers, community partners, board members, staff, and the general public.
  • Manage BGCCP’s social media presence, including content planning, creation, scheduling, community engagement, and performance monitoring.
  • Write and edit website content, email communications, newsletters, press releases, donor communications, event promotions, advertisements, flyers, signage, and other marketing materials.
  • Help ensure consistent BGCCP branding, messaging, voice, and visual identity across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to share Club stories, youth accomplishments, program outcomes, staff highlights, community partnerships, and organizational milestones.
  • Coordinate photography and videography needs and maintain an organized library of approved photos and other marketing assets.
  • Monitor marketing trends and recommend new opportunities to increase reach and engagement.
Project & Campaign Management
  • Manage marketing projects from initial request through completion, including timelines, deliverables, approvals, and distribution.
  • Coordinate marketing support for BGCCP fundraising campaigns, special events, community initiatives, and organizational announcements.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communications plans for BGCCP events and fundraising opportunities, including promotional timelines, social media, digital and print collateral, signage, and other event communications.
  • Develop and coordinate event-related marketing collateral, including invitations, posters, digital graphics, social media content, event signage, banners, programs, and other promotional materials, ensuring materials are timely, accurate, on-brand, and appropriate for each event and audience.
  • Coordinate marketing materials and communications for campaigns such as annual giving, capital campaigns, giving circles, sponsorship opportunities, and other development initiatives.
  • Work with internal teams to gather information, identify appropriate audiences, establish deadlines, and determine the best communication channels.
  • Manage incoming marketing requests and prioritize projects in coordination with the Vice President of Development Operations.
  • Maintain an organized project management system for marketing requests and ensure projects move forward on schedule.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors, printers, photographers, designers, advertising partners, and other external resources as needed.
Digital & Online Presence
  • Manage and regularly update BGCCP’s website content to ensure information is accurate, timely, accessible, and aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Develop digital campaigns to support enrollment, fundraising, events, advocacy, and community awareness.
  • Manage email marketing communications, including content development, audience segmentation, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Monitor digital performance and use analytics to make informed recommendations for improving reach and engagement.
  • Support efforts to grow BGCCP’s online giving and digital fundraising presence.
Public Relations & Community Awareness
  • Develop press releases, media advisories, talking points, and other materials that promote BGCCP’s work.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local media and identify opportunities for positive coverage of BGCCP and its Clubs.
  • Coordinate media requests and work with organizational leadership and Club staff to facilitate interviews, stories, and photo opportunities.
  • Help identify and promote opportunities that increase BGCCP’s visibility across Eastern North Carolina.
  • Support communications surrounding new Club locations, facility projects, partnerships, milestones, and organizational announcements.
Internal Communications
  • Support consistent and effective communication among BGCCP staff across multiple Club locations.
  • Develop internal communications, announcements, newsletters, and resources as requested.
  • Help ensure staff have the information and marketing resources they need to represent BGCCP effectively in their communities.
  • Work with leadership to translate organizational priorities into clear, accessible communications for staff.
Brand Management
  • Serve as a primary resource for BGCCP’s brand standards, messaging, and communications practices.
  • Maintain consistency in the use of BGCCP logos, colors, fonts, photography, messaging, and other brand elements.
  • Review externally facing materials for accuracy, consistency, quality, and alignment with BGCCP’s voice and mission.
