Job summary

Huntsman Cancer Institute is seeking a Marketing Communication Specialist to design, plan, and implement a broad range of print and digital communications for internal and external audiences. You will manage projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate with a creative team to represent HCI to patients, staff, and the public.

This role supports cancer prevention, care, and survivorship across the region. We're looking for strong storytelling abilities and proficiency with Canva and Adobe Creative

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with relevant work experience.
  • 4+ years in marketing communications or related field.
  • Experience creating print and digital materials.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements communication materials for print, electronic, and web distribution.
  • Communicates department information to stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Monitors effectiveness of tactics and adjusts plans as necessary.
  • Collaborates with the departmental team and other clientele to conceptualize projects.
  • Adheres to organizational style and brand guidelines.
  • Ensures accurate and timely completion of tasks and delivery of projects.
  • May perform other related technical duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Plans, designs, creates, and implements a wide range of print and digital communications for internal and external audiences. Uses good judgment and strong interpersonal skills to manage projects as well as plan and meet communications strategies, objectives, and deadlines. Works with a collaborative, creative team to best represent Huntsman Cancer Institute to patients, staff, and the public. Follows University of Utah, Huntsman Cancer Institute, and departmental guidelines and standards to ensure quality and consistency.

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:

Marketing Communication Specialist, II: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.

Preferences
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro), photography, videography, and graphic design.
  • Strong storytelling abilities and an understanding of digital engagement strategies are highly valued.
