- Build and maintain personalization logic using scripting languages such as AMPscript, Liquid, Handlebars, and SSJS, including reusable content blocks and shared configuration patterns.
- Write, optimize, and review advanced SQL queries for audience segmentation, data architecture, and test/control cohort frameworks.
- Partner with the Marketing Automation Team Manager to validate audiences and monitor data moving into and out of marketing automation platforms.
- Protect compliance-sensitive processes, including consent management, global unsubscribe synchronization, suppression logic, adverse action notice delivery, and personally identifiable information (PII) handling.
- Maintain secure integration practices, including API authentication, key and secret rotation, and environment management.
- Participate in technical and peer reviews, ensuring adherence to established coding, naming, documentation, and version-control standards.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues, helping Lifecycle Marketing troubleshoot problems and apply platform best practices.
- Translate marketing and business requirements into technical solutions while following established Jira workflows, sprint planning, and review processes.
- Collaborate with Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, Engineering, Information Security, and Legal/Compliance teams to ensure releases are secure, compliant, and production-ready.
- Maintain architecture documentation, technical notes, and operating procedures to ensure a smooth transition back to the permanent team member.
- Leverage AI-powered coding and research tools to accelerate development, debugging, code review, documentation, and quality assurance.
- A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- At least 5 years of hands‑on experience with an enterprise email or marketing automation platform, such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, Iterable, or HubSpot.
- Advanced proficiency in email scripting languages, including AMPscript, Liquid, Handlebars, or SSJS, with experience developing reusable logic and shared components.
- Strong SQL expertise, including complex joins, window functions, CASE statements, common table expressions (CTEs), and audience segmentation.
- Advanced HTML and CSS skills, particularly for responsive email development and cross-client compatibility.
- Experience designing and supporting SOAP/REST API integrations, JWT or token-based authentication, and secure link or redirect handling.
- Working knowledge of modern data platforms and workflows, including Snowflake, dbt, and Git-based pull request processes.
- Strong understanding of data privacy, email marketing regulations, and compliance requirements, including CAN‑SPAM, CCPA, GDPR, and CASL.
- Experience handling sensitive personal data and applying rigorous data protection practices.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery models and Jira-based project workflows, including technical review processes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts and requirements across marketing, engineering, security, and compliance stakeholders.
- Ability to become productive quickly, manage priorities independently, and work effectively with limited onboarding.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code to write, debug, and review SQL and scripting code.
Preferred qualifications:
