Happen Bank (formerly LendingClub) is built around a simple purpose: to clear the way to help people turn intention into action, and action into financial progress. That means offering focused products, a frictionless mobile-first experience, and clear terms with no gotchas. Respect and fairness is part of our DNA, and that ideal shapes how we work, how we treat each other, and how we invest in our employees and our community. Join us in using data, bold thinking, and a commitment to innovation to help clear the way for millions of Americans to achieve more.

About The Role

The Marketing Automation Manager owns end-to-end execution of Happen Bank's multi-channel customer journeys across email, SMS, and push for Personal Loans, Collections, and DebtIQ in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC). You'll be a hands-on builder responsible for designing, testing, and delivering reliable outbound marketing experiences.

Beyond campaign delivery, you'll help evolve our marketing capabilities from manual execution toward scalable automation, strengthening the journey architecture, deliverability strategy, and data flows that enable lifecycle programs to grow efficiently and reliably.

What You'll Do
  • Own the end-to-end build and execution of multi-channel customer journeys across email, SMS, and push in SFMC for Personal Loans, Collections, and DebtIQ
  • Design and maintain scalable journey architecture, including trigger logic, suppression rules, and data flows that support reliable campaign execution
  • Drive deliverability strategy, including IP warming, domain diversification, sender authentication, and reputation management, to protect and improve inbox placement
  • Build responsive, on-brand email templates and implement dynamic content using AMPscript, Liquid, merge tags, or similar approaches to personalize messaging at scale
  • Write and execute SQL-based segmentation and audience logic that powers targeting and personalization across customer journeys
  • Partner with Data and Platform teams to strengthen automation architecture and move lifecycle marketing from manual campaign execution toward durable, scalable infrastructure
  • Use AI tools to accelerate QA, personalization, and testing, identifying opportunities where automation can reduce manual work without compromising quality
  • Monitor journey and campaign performance, translate results into clear recommendations, and ensure execution complies with applicable data privacy and marketing regulations
About You
  • 4+ years of experience in marketing automation, lifecycle marketing, or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Hands-on expertise with enterprise email service providers and marketing automation platforms, ideally Salesforce Marketing Cloud, with experience owning customer journeys end-to-end
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to independently translate segmentation and targeting logic into scalable audience definitions
  • Strong understanding of deliverability fundamentals, including IP warming, domain reputation, and sender authentication, and how execution decisions affect long-term inbox performance
  • You take ownership of build quality, proactively identifying and resolving issues before campaigns launch
  • You collaborate effectively across Marketing, Data, Product, and Platform teams and adapt your approach based on feedback and context
  • You actively look for ways AI can improve analysis, QA, personalization, and automation while applying sound judgment around accuracy, customer data, privacy, and where human validation remains essential
Nice to Have
  • Experience with AMPscript, Liquid, or similar personalization technologies at scale
  • Experience in a regulated industry, ideally financial services or lending
  • Exposure to CDP or broader MarTech platform migrations
