Position Overview:
The Marketing Associate plays an important role in supporting Agri-Waste Technology's marketing and business development activities. This position helps promote AWT's services, build relationships within the agricultural industry, and support efforts to attract new clients. Responsibilities include developing marketing materials, managing social media and website content, assisting with proposals, conducting market research, coordinating events and conferences, and supporting client communications. Working alongside experienced engineers, scientists, and business leaders, the Marketing Associate helps tell AWT's story and contributes to the company's continued growth and reputation as a trusted environmental consulting partner.
Primary Responsibilities:
Marketing
- Market Analysis and Client Identification
- Conduct comprehensive research to identify potential clients including 1) integrators 2) regulatory/government agencies 3) clients in the agriculture sector
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging opportunities to inform business development strategies
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, and customer support, to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Contribute to team meetings and brainstorming sessions, providing valuable insights to enhance marketing/business development strategies
- Proposal Development:
- Support the preparation of proposals and other materials for potential clients. Ensure proposals align with the company’s goals and highlight the value proposition of projects or partnerships
- Content Creation:
- Develop social media plan and supporting content for the Ag and Carbon teams across LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram
- Create marketing materials including brochures, case studies, white papers, presentations, and website documents
- Work with the Director of IT to optimize website
- Develop educational resources explaining carbon markets, sustainability practices, and agricultural engineering work for cross platform
Business Development - Client Acquisition and Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain relationships with agricultural integrators to foster partnerships and increase service visibility.
- Implement effective outreach strategies to engage potential clients, nurturing leads from initial contact to successful acquisition.
- Identify and attend key conferences for networking and awareness.
- Create quarterly update newsletter for clients with support from the Ag and Carbon teams
- Assist in organizing field days, demonstrations, trade shows, and industry events
Administrative
- Attend Monthly Company Meetings, as well as Monthly Marketing Meetings with Ag Sector teams
- Submit Time and expenses according to pay schedule
- Communication with Administrative Staff
- Include Out of Office Appointments, Meetings and/or Site Visits on Sector Specific company calendars
- Email all personal leave days to Admin to include on company calendar.
- Discuss potential proposals or client collaborations with supervisor/Ag Sector Lead
- Assist with marketing travel accommodations
- Ensure all job responsibilities are covered for any personal time off (PTO) days that exceed 2 consecutive days
- Turn on Automated Out of Office email for anytime out of the office that is more than 2 business days.
- Obtain permission from supervisor prior to working remotely
- Regular meetings with supervisor
- Attend monthly meetings with supervisor to review current projects and job progression
- Attend quarterly evaluation meetings with supervisor
- Perform annual self-evaluation
- Notify HR of any changes for Employee File (address, emergency contact, phone numbers)
- Respond to voicemails and email correspondence within 1-2 business days of receiving
Marketing Professional Development
- Attend sector specific conferences and continuing education classes as needed
- Attend staff training as directed by supervisor
- Complete continuing education courses or books approved by supervisor
Candidate Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Sales, Business or related field.
- 1+ years of marketing, business development and/or sales experience.
- Agriculture experience or exposure is preferred,either through professional experience, farming, or significant hands-on involvement in the agricultural community or industry. An interest or passion for the industry and supporting farmers will be considered in lieu of this specific experience.
- Experience with social media, marketing content/asset creation, market research and sales support activities is preferred.
- Tech savviness, with experience in the Microsoft Office suite of products, including excel and PowerPoint proficiency. Experience with Canva is also useful.
- Willingness/ability to attend sector-specific conferences and continuing education courses.
- Infrequent travel may also be required.
