This 15-20 hour/week, part-time role requires rotating nights and weekends, with a $15.00 per hour base plus bonus potential. Office-based work at The Quarters Lawrence offers growth in a student housing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years experience in customer service, sales, or retail preferred.
• University enrollment in marketing, communications, or related field preferred.
• Experience with CapCut, Canva, and Adobe Lightroom editing apps.
• Ability to present a creative portfolio highlighting prior creative/design and social media experience.

The Position: The Marketing Assistant is primarily responsible for enhancing the online presence and promotion of a student housing property through engaging photo and video content on all social media platforms. Additionally, this individual will play a key role in outreach marketing efforts to attract new residents and promote the property within the local community. A successful Marketing Assistant will provide engaging and relevant social media content, assist with the creation and execution of the sites monthly marketing calendar, contribute to the organization and promotion of resident events, and drive the property’s overall reputation and success.

The Property: The Quarters Lawrence is a garden style student housing community in Lawrence, Kansas, designed to serve students attending the University of Kansas. The 200 unit, 632 bed community offers 2, 3, and 4-bedroom units with amenities that include a fitness center, resort-style swimming pool with hot tub, hammock garden, coffee bar, and much more. The Quarters provides team members with opportunities to develop and grow their careers while delivering an unmatched living experience for our residents.

This is a part-time position working a variable schedule. Candidates must be able to work 15-20 hours per week, on average. Rotating nights and weekends are required and may vary based on property needs.

The compensation range for this position is $15.00 per hour plus bonus potential. This range is determined by current market data based on the position requirements and complexities. Final offers of employment will be based on multiple factors including candidate education, skills, experience, and location.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Demonstrate excellent customer service with residents, prospects, vendors, officials, and community members; prioritizing others and fighting for their highest possible good.
• Produce high-quality photo and video content to be used for social media marketing and promotional materials.
• Manage and maintain property social media profiles, including regular posting, responding to comments, and fostering community engagement.
• Collaborate with the office staff to provide marketing support for the property’s leasing and resident retention efforts.
• Work with the leasing team to develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure a consistent and cohesive posting schedule across all social media platforms.
• Participate and assist with the execution of outreach marketing efforts on campus and in the community, customer appreciation events, and other special events.
• Foster a sense of community among residents by showcasing their experiences and contributions through digital marketing content.
• Support efforts related to the property's image and ensure that all marketing materials accurately represent unique features and amenities.
• Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor activity, and social media best practices to continuously improve our marketing strategies.
• Explore opportunities for partnerships and collaborations with local businesses and organizations to expand the property's reach within the community.
• Assist in the annual unit turnover and help execute move-in/move-out procedures.
• Work the entirety of the turnover period, including nights and weekends as scheduled.
• Assist with new leasing efforts and other office operations as directed by management.
• Perform digital audits as assigned.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the company dress code at all times.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One or more years of experience working in the customer service, sales, or retail industry is preferred.
• University enrollment, working towards a degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience with editing apps such as CapCut, Canva, and Adobe Lightroom.
• Ability to present a creative portfolio highlighting prior creative/design and social media experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Proficiency in using social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok with an understanding of platform-specific trends and best practices.
• Demonstrated experience in planning and scheduling social media content or coordinating marketing events, preferably using a content calendar or management platform.
• Possess strong photography and videography and editing skills.
• Experience in event planning and execution.
• Ability to work independently.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to work extended hours during the turnover period, including nights and weekends.

This role is based fully in-office and requires an onsite presence. Must be available to consistently work a minimum of 15-20 hours per week between 9:00am – 6:00pm. Weekday and weekend shifts will be required.
