Job summary

Pacific Northwest Ballet is seeking a Marketing Assistant to support administrative tasks, customer service, and social media across Marketing and Sales. The role includes writing, editing, proofreading, website content updates, and email campaigns, with evening and weekend event requirements.

You will work with Tessitura and WordPress, contribute to digital content, and help coordinate ticketing initiatives while assisting in outreach and promotions for single tickets and subscriptions.

Qualifications

  • Experience writing, editing, and producing marketing content for events, nonprofits, or the arts.
  • Experience with Tessitura, WordPress, and dance is a big plus.
  • Effective communicator in‑person, over the phone, email, and online.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt quickly with tact.

Responsibilities

  • Draft marketing copy promoting PNB performances for website, emails, blog, and social channels.
  • Proofread and edit marketing and development copy for various Revenue Team projects.
  • Coordinate teen ticketing initiatives and track programs for target audiences.
  • Assist with McCaw Hall experiences and audience engagement activities.
  • Handle department calendaring, posters, print collateral, and listings.
  • Create and export lists from Tessitura; improve database efficiency.
  • Contribute to social media content and calendar planning.
  • Support website copy updates under supervision.
  • Attend marketing events in the evenings and weekends.
  • Participate in sales strategy meetings and promotions for tickets/subscriptions.

SUMMARY

Pacific Northwest Ballet is seeking a Marketing Assistant to provide administrative, customer service, and social media support across the spectrum of Marketing and Sales activities including writing, editing, and proofreading for print, online, and email; website content updates, content creation for PNB’s social media channels and blog; ticket initiatives for select audiences, and operational and calendaring support for the department. Must be able to work in-person and during performances and events. This position will support a wide range of marketing activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Draft clear, concise, and compelling marketing copy in the PNB voice that promotes PNB’s performances and programs for the website, emails, blog, social media, etc.
  • Proofread and edit long and short marketing and development copy for various Revenue Team projects, including direct mail, emails, blog posts, etc.
  • Coordinate PNB’s new teen ticketing initiative by creating a program to market $15 tickets to area teenagers. Track PNB’s ticketing programs for target audiences including teens and young adults.
  • Help coordinate McCaw Hall experiences for audience members, including – meet and greets with artists, giveaways, working at the Concierge Table, putting notes on seats, etc.
  • Coordinate department’s operational duties, including: calendaring of department activities, distribute posters & print collateral at McCaw Hall and others as needed, manage subscriber rewards partners, submit calendar listings, and other activities as assigned.
  • Create and export lists from the Tessitura database. Keep updated on PNB's Tessitura protocols and assist in efforts to improve database efficiency.
  • Participate as a member of the social media team by creating content, managing the social media calendar, and ideating with the team long-term social media strategies.
  • Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Digital Experience and Marketing Manager, implement website copy updates.
  • Work PNB evening and weekend marketing events.
  • Participating member of the Marketing/Box Office revenue strategy team. Attend weekly meetings evaluating sales and participate in the creation of sales initiatives and promotions to inform email strategy and grow revenues for single tickets and subscriptions.
Qualifications
  • Experience writing, editing, and producing marketing content, preferably for events, non‑profits, and/or the arts required.
  • Experience with Tessitura, WordPress, and dance a big plus.
  • Effective communicator in‑person, over the phone, over email, and online required.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and be open to changing direction quickly. Requires self‑direction, tact, diplomacy, kindness, and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with the public and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team required.
  • Experience working with Tessitura preferred.
  • Experience working with WordPress, with some knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems and resolve issues.
  • Strong computer and data analytics skills.
  • Adept at working with MS Office Suite and Adobe products.
  • Demonstrated facility with digital media platforms.
  • Interest in dance, arts, education required.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Pay Range

$24.00 – 25.00/hour; Hourly, Non‑Exempt

Schedule

Most work weeks will be Mon – Fri, basic office hours.

This role will work Tuesday through Saturday during performance weeks and be expected to work at McCaw Hall during Saturday performances.
